Church Membership Requirements

We believe that church membership is vitally important for every Christian.  Every child of God needs continuous and faithful fellowship with other believers in order to be most encouraged and strengthened in our walk with God, worship of God, and serving of His purposes.  If you are not a member of a gospel-believing and gospel-preaching church, we strongly encourage you to pursue membership into a true church family of God.

If you are considering membership into The Kirk of the Hills, we are honored and hope we may best serve and promote God's will for you.  In order for us to most faithfully serve God's family, the following procedures are required in order to become a member:

1)  You must complete the Membership Class (see Becoming a Member at the Kirk).  A Membership Classes is conducted approximately twice per year, and is held at various times which are announced in advance.  Please note that childcare is provided for those candidates who need their children looked after and cared for during the class time.  All childcare workers are State-approved and Kirk-sponsored.

2)  During the Membership Class, each class member will meet with two members of the church leadership team, called Elders, in order for you to share your testimony of your faith in Jesus Christ.  These individual meetings usually occur on Sunday mornings between our worship services, and are designed to be encouraging for all involved.

3)  Following this, our Elders will approve the candidates to be received for membership.  Membership approval is based on each candidate's valid testimony of faith in Jesus Christ, and his or her agreement to commit to and follow God's ordinances for His Church.

4)  A week or two later, all New Members will be introduced to the congregation during our Sunday worship services.  This always proves to be a wonderful and fun experience for our entire church family.
