Kirk Day SchoolKirk Day School is a ministry of the Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church and seeks to assist the Christian parent in the nurture of covenantal children, educating them in a Christian world and life view according to God’s Word, equipping them to be disciples of Christ, impacting His world.
Kirk Day School’s doctrinal basis is the inerrant Word of God, and subordinate to it, the Westminster Confession of Faith. This provides the standard and basis for all teaching within our school.
Kirk Day School provides a Christian environment in which children can work and play under the supervision of qualified teachers concerned with the child’s intellectual, spiritual, social, and physical development. Our program offers age-appropriate instruction in math, science, reading and language skills, social studies, foreign language, music, art, and development of fine and gross motor skills. Our students may participate in our Athletic Program if they desire—soccer, basketball, both boys and girls baseball/softball, as well as 6th grade girls volleyball. Chapel services are held weekly and God’s Word is integrated into every area of the academic program.
Realizing that parental involvement in the school has a positive influence on a child’s education, Kirk Day School encourages parents to participate in the school program by volunteering in various capacities or perhaps by sharing their special talents with the classes. Parent/Teacher conferences are held in the fall and the spring to discuss the student’s progress. Kirk Day School is a member of Christian Schools International, Christian Schools Association of St. Louis, and Independent Schools of St. Louis and offers classes for preschool, kindergarten, and elementary grades 1 through 6.
